The Real Madrid-Kylian Mbappe saga has been one of the most closely followed transfer stories in recent football history.

Real Madrid’s interest in Kylian Mbappe dates back to his early days at AS Monaco and the club have since then watched his progress closely.

Despite coming close on a few occasions to acquire his services in the past, late twists in the tale have prevented the Merengues from uniting with the 2018 World Cup winner.

However, as the 2024 summer transfer window looms, the reunion both parties have long been yearning for may finally be fulfilled.

Mbappe’s decision to leave PSG as a free agent has become public knowledge by now, with Real Madrid poised to be his ultimate destination.

Mbappe wants announcement before Euro

It was recently reported that certain complications were coming up regarding Real Madrid’s presentation of Mbappe, as the club must negotiate with the French Football Federation to allow him to temporarily leave the team’s training camp.

Despite these hurdles, according to MARCA (h/t Madrid Zone) Kylian Mbappe wants his move to Real Madrid to be official before Euro 2024, which is what the club hopes for as well.

An announcement before the tournament kicks off in Berlin will allow the French forward to fully focus on his national team’s endeavours and not stress about any future transfer speculation.

Given that his contract with PSG does not expire until June 30, it poses another additional hurdle for the two parties.

Considering Mbappe has regarded Real Madrid as his dream destination as a child and aims to win the Champions League and Ballon d’Or in the royal white jersey, he will be eager to get the move wrapped up as soon as possible.

Time will tell when the presentation takes place, but Real Madrid are keen on it transpiring in the first or second week of June after the Champions League final has taken place.
