Brentford B open their Under-21 Professional Development League (PDL) season on Tuesday 19 August (2pm kick-off), when they take on Sheffield United Under-21s at Bramall Lane.

Playing in a league format for the first time since the inception of the squad, the B team face an early test: the young Blades finished top of the north division last season, before going on to win the overall competition with a 2-0 victory over Birmingham in the final.

Neil MacFarlane’s side have enjoyed a busy pre-season, with a training camp in Wales and numerous pre-season games building the players up for a big season ahead.

A handful of young Bees have plied their trade with the first team, while Ollie Shield, Andre Grey, Kerron Samuels and Yaw Agyei have made the jump up to the B team from the U18s, with a handful of trialists also trying to impress across the pre-season.
