Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood once again set himself apart from the majority of his teammates as Getafe suffered yet another loss.

This time, Getafe were beaten by Alaves, who were just behind them in the league but have now jumped to 10th place – two points above Jose Bordalas’ men in 11th.

It was extra misery for Greenwood and his teammates, who have now lost four games on the bounce, with their last victory coming late last month against Almeria.

A Carlos Vicente goal just before the quarter-hour mark was all Alaves needed to secure the win and clinch all three points in front of their home support.

Getafe mustered the lion’s share of possession (53%) and registered more shots on target (4) but unfortunately, it didn’t prove to be enough as Alaves stood firm.

However, on an individual level, it was a successful evening for Greenwood, who produced another impressive performance that parties interested in securing his services in the summer transfer window would have certainly taken note of.

The Englishman once again started up front alongside Jaime Mata in a 5-3-2 formation.

During the time he was on the pitch, Greenwood accounted for four of Getafe’s 10 total cracks at goal. Two of his shots were off-target with as many being on-target.

Greenwood missed one big chance.

The 22-year-old embarked on six dribbles and completed half of them.

He registered 38 total touches of the ball and successfully delivered 12 of the 15 passes he attempted (which comes to a pass completion rate of around 80%). One of his passes was a key pass.

Greenwood tried to find a Getafe shirt with four crosses and one long ball. He successfully connected with two crosses. His long ball didn’t reach its intended target. He won five of the 11 ground duels he delved into but lost the two challenges he contested in the air.

The player also drew in two fouls.

Up next for Greenwood and Getafe is Mallorca next Saturday, on the final day of the 2023/24 La Liga season. He will undoubtedly be looking to finish his tenure at the club strongly before coming back to United, where his future will then be sorted out.
