19-year-old attacking midfielder Carboni is a player who looks to be at a crossroads at Inter this summer.

The teenager has really found his feet in the senior game over the last twelve months.

Last summer, Carboni joined Monza on loan. He spent the season growing into the Brianzoli starting eleven, but then returned to Inter at the end of the campaign as it was just a dry loan.

The form that Carboni showed at Monza earned him a place in the Argentina setup.

The 19-year-old made his first start for the Albiceleste senior team in a friendly against Guatemala in the leadup to the Copa America this summer.

And Carboni has also been in the squad at the tournament itself. He came off the bench for Argentina against Peru in yesterday’s 2-0 group stage win.

Despite this growth, Carboni does not look to have a place in the Inter senior team.

Therefore, the possibility has been more than raised of the Nerazzurri selling the Argentina.

All of Fiorentina, Atalanta, and Lazio are keen on Carboni. There has also been interest from the Premier League.

And according to Di Marzio, there is interest in Carboni’s signature growing outside of Serie A as well.

The Sky transfer expert report that Marseille are also keen on the Argentine.

The French side are recovering from a tough 2023-24 season which saw them fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Marseille have appointed former Sassuolo, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Brighton and Hove Albion coach Roberto De Zerbi to their bench.

And the Ligue 1 club are looking to make reinforcements in the transfer market this summer.

According to Di Marzio, Inter attacking midfielder Carboni is among Marseille’s targets.
