Marquinhos: "The Coupe de France is important for the club" | OneFootball

The Paris Saint-Germain captain gave his thoughts to the media ahead of Saturday's Coupe de France final vs. Stade de Reims.

TEAM SPIRIT

'We feel really good. We're ready. We dreamed of this moment of the season. We're well prepared. It's intense in training, we're demanding with ourselves. We know the Coupe de France, it's important for Paris Saint-Germain and France. It's great to win this competition. I have always asked a lot of myself. It's not easy to win so many trophies. I motivate myself to the max. I always try to help my teammates. The coach is also very demanding. It's the fruit of a season's work. Now isn't the time to change things. We now need two trophies to confirm all this good work.'

COUPE DE FRANCE

'We want to win this final, that's the best preparation for next week. It's really something to play a final at the Stade de France. I know just how wonderful that is, and I want to transmit that to my teammates. We wanted to reach the final of every competition, it's now up to us to finish it off. We want to win on Saturday.'

REIMS

'Each match has its own story, regardless of where clubs are in the league. That's the cup, teams that aren't as good can win. We have had some tough games. We have to go into the game well in order not to have any problems. If we play as we usually do, with all our focus, I think we have a good chance of winning. But anything can happen in a final, and it's up to us to not create problems for ourselves and to put in a good performance.'

UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

'We'll have time later to talk about the Champions League final. It's being talked about more outside - rather than within - the squad. We can't fall into that trap. We have to play this first important final. That's also the coach's message. We have prepared well for this game. We know just how exciting it is to play a Champions League final, but we mustn't think about that game before Saturday's final. We're focused on that.'

LUIS ENRIQUE

'This is the result of teamwork, of what has been done since he arrived. He put his ideas in place step by step, managed to improve our play, our defence, our attack. He gives us alternatives. We know how to defend if a team attacks in this or that way. We're prepared for that. He has also worked a lot on the mental side of things, motivation, preparation, the players' attitude. He's not the sort of coach who tells you to just do this or that. He shows us the way. He doesn't only talk about football. It's more than that. He's demanding, and he's a really great coach.'
