The agent of Napoli right-back Giovanni Di Lorenzo and winger Matteo Politano reveals Antonio Conte’s decision on his future at the club.
Speaking in an interview with Tutto Sport, Mario Giuffredi, the agent of Di Lorenzo and Politano, divulges information regarding Napoli coach Antonio Conte’s future. Giuffredi was asked about his opinion on Conte’s possible decision to leave the Partenopei and the situation of a new coach. He replied: “The coach decided to leave on February 1st. He loves the city, but for me, he has had his own ideas since then and those who know him know that at that point, he will go his own way. I believe that the coach was not involved in the negotiations for Marianucci and De Bruyne. Napoli has realised this, they will not be caught unprepared.”
Giuffredi also stated that former Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri could be appointed as the new Napoli head coach in the event of Conte’s departure. It is considered that Napoli CEO Aurelio De Laurentiis is already negotiating terms with other managers including Allegri so as to not get caught off-guard if Conte drops the bombshell of leaving. The agent claimed: “For me Allegri will come, but if Inzaghi were to go to Arabia the doors of Inter could open. De Bruyne is not an operation for Napoli: the club has always made careful operations, projected into the future.”
It remains to be seen what happens with the Napoli head coach situation as De Laurentiis has staged talks with Conte to clarify his future and there is no doubt that the club wants him to stay after delivering the Scudetto.
Should Conte leave ahead of the new season, Milan and Juventus are the possible clubs that could get his services.
