Marc Cucurella back to his best as Chelsea contain Liverpool attack | OneFootball

Marc Cucurella was signed for serious money in the summer, and frankly hadn’t impressed too much in his time at the club.

Ben Chilwell’s injury should have given him the perfect platform, but instead he’s been put on the spot and struggled badly in Chelsea’s terrible recent run.

The last two games had actually seen him dropped for youngster Lewis Hall, and in his press conference before today’s game manager Graham Potter didn’t hide that his was because of the Spaniard’s bad form.

He was back in today though, and did a great job against Liverpool. He had a tough task facing Mo Salah but he did a great job keeping him contained. He wasn’t able to get forward as much as he would have wanted, but he did his job.

Let’s hope that this is his new base level, and we can see more and these sorts of showings.
