Amorim is set to keep faith in Andre Onana as Manchester United face Newcastle in the Premier League
Ruben Amorim says he is not expecting to welcome back any of Manchester United’s injured stars for Sunday’s Premier League clash against Newcastle.
Whilst youngster Ayden Heaven is on the comeback trail along with Amad Diallo and Jonny Evans, the Man Utd boss doesn’t think the trio along with Matthijs de Ligt and Toby Collyer will be available for selection on Tyneside.
Amorim said: "No, I think it's the same. There's a great responsibility. We don't have a team that is really big to do that [rotate], and then we have some players that I know that cannot make 90 minutes in this moment still.
"We have be careful, so we will try to address all these subjects in the game against Newcastle. But we have a great responsibility when we play any game, so I will try to look at that.
“That is for sure. But we have to face Newcastle with a team that we can be competitive, and to win the game."
Man Utd head into the game following successive draws with Manchester City and then Lyon in the Europa League quarter-final first leg.
In the respective fixtures Amorim was boosted by the returns of Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo to the matchday squad, and it could be a case that the former gets some minutes on Sunday after two unused substitute appearances.

With that said, Amorim has already confirmed Andre Onana will remain in between the posts despite two high-profile errors against Lyon. Ahead of him, Victor Lindelof could get the nod as Harry Maguire’s minutes continue to be managed carefully.
There’s a decision to be made in midfield as Mason Mount is pushing for a start having come off the bench in the last three games. Should that be the case, captain Bruno Fernandes would move back into a deeper role alongside Manuel Ugarte with Casemiro rested.
Up front, Joshua Zirkzee staked his claim to lead the line after scoring as a substitute against Lyon. Rasmus Hojlund has been largely ineffective in his last two outings for Man United and could have few complaints if dropped.
Predicted Manchester United XI: Onana; Mazraoui, Lindelof, Yoro; Dalot, Ugarte, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mount, Garnacho; Zirkzee
Injured: Martinez, Evans, De Ligt, Amad, Heaven, Collyer
