Loïc Tanzi of L’Équipe reported this week that Paris Saint-Germain are among several clubs keeping an eye on Viktor Gyökeres ahead of a potential transfer in the summer of 2025. PSG’s sporting advisor, Luís Campos, has reportedly already made contact with Gyökeres’ representatives.

However, according to Le Parisien, Gyökeres is no longer a priority for PSG. Manager Luis Enrique is said to be concerned about the high transfer fee, estimated to be between €75 million and €100 million. Inside the club, there is a growing sense that such a price tag carries significant risk.

Meanwhile, the Swedish forward has drawn interest from Barcelona. A Bola reports that Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, has already begun discussions with Sporting Lisbon over a potential move for Gyökeres.

Former footballer Mark Lawrenson has advised new Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim to “100 percent” bring Gyökeres to Old Trafford, believing he could “get the best out of” the striker and secure him for a reasonable fee.

“If you were Rúben Amorim, you’d want Viktor Gyökeres to join you at Manchester United, because he knows what buttons to press and how to get the best out of him,” Lawrenson told Paddy Power (h/t TEAMtalk).

“When a manager joins a club from a different country, they tend to bring two or three players with them as it’s familiarity for them. If he’s available and United can get him, then they 100 percent should – especially if they can get him for the price that is being quoted.”
