Manchester United U18s defeated Arsenal U18s 3-2 at the Emirates Stadium on Friday evening to advance to the FA Youth Cup semi-finals.
United started the game strongly as Jaydan Kamason squared the ball to James Scalon, but his effort was deflected for a corner.
Goalkeeper Jack Porter did well to deny Harry Amass from opening the scoring with a brilliant long-range effort in the 22nd minute.
Kamason attempted to get on the scoresheet again after receiving a pass from Gabriel Biancheri, but his effort failed to hit the target.
Jack Fletcher deservedly gave the Red Devils the lead in the 35th minute, skillfully cutting onto his right foot before firing the ball into the net.
However, Louie Copley equalised for Arsenal with a fine finish after receiving a pass from James Sweet.
Arsenal were then awarded a penalty after Max Dowman was brought down. Dowman stepped up and converted from the spot to give the Gunners the lead.
Six minutes before the end of normal time, Kamason finally got on the scoresheet, smashing a shot beyond Porter to restore parity for United.
Goalkeeper Will Murdock made a brilliant save to deny Dowman from snatching a late winner for Arsenal, taking the game to extra time.
United took the lead nine minutes into extra time through substitute Bendito Mantato.
Samuel Lusale received a pass from Jim Thwaites and squared the ball to Mantato, who applied the finishing touch.
Three minutes before the end of the game, Arsenal were reduced to 10 men as Sweet was sent off for a foul on Kamason.
Man United will face either Plymouth Argyle or Aston Villa in the semi-final on April 5.
