Man Utd boss confirms some bad news ahead of a huge Premier League opener
Manchester United have been dealt a major injury blow after Ruben Amorim confirmed Noussair Mazraoui will not be available to face Arsenal.
Mazraoui has not featured for the Red Devils since playing 45 minutes against Leeds in the club’s first pre-season friendly of the summer.
But speaking ahead of the opening game of the season against the Gunners at Old Trafford on Sunday, Amorim confirmed the Morocco international is one two absentees.
He said: "No, Licha [Lisandro Martinez] and Mazraoui are out, they cannot play this game.
“Josh [Zirkzee] and Andre [Onana] are recovering and are options. We'll see."
Mazraoui became an important player for Man Utd last season. He made 57 appearances across all competitions, missing just one Premier League game as his versatility was highly valued by Amorim.

In better news for Man United, summer signings Benjamin Sesko, Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo are in contention to make their official debuts for the club.
However, with regards to Sesko, Amorim couldn’t confirm whether the striker would start given his back of game time in recent weeks.
"We didn’t have a lot of time but he is ready, physically he is ready, that is a big component in our league,” Amorim added. “He is ready to play, we will see if he is going to start.
"I am really happy, I think he has great potential, he can play different types of football.
“I can see Ben being a striker for Man Utd for long period, that is why we paid so much money to have a striker who has a history at this club."
