Man United up to 12th in the Premier League after narrow win

Manchester United earned an important Premier League win as they beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

Despite being outplayed for much of the evening, Lisandro Martinez was on hand to score the game’s only goal in the second half when his strike from distance deflected up off Sasa Lukic and found the net.

United duly moved up from 13th place in the table into 12th.

Andre Onana 5

Had very little to do, with most of Fulham’s shots sailing wide.

Noussair Mazraoui 6

Put in a vital clearance when Harry Wilson was stealing in and might have scored.

Matthijs de Ligt 5

Made some good interceptions but was replaced before the hour mark. One fine cross-field ball.

Harry Maguire 6

A key block stopped a through-ball finding Emile Smith Rowe and spelling trouble. Aerially dominant, as per.

Lisandro Martinez 7

Went about his business calmly and assuredly in defence. Looked to play forward with the ball at feet. Scored the winning goal to hand United all three points.

Diogo Dalot 6

Given a difficult evening as he came face-to-face with the lively Alex Iwobi on plenty of occasions. On a few, the United man nipped in to tackle.

Manuel Ugarte 6

Helpful in snuffing passes out, but committed a poor foul on Harry Wilson and his passing range was off.

Bruno Fernandes 6

Tried to make things happen but without ever having much success. Came close with a smart free-kick which deceived the Fulham wall but just slid wide.
