Andriy Lunin played an important part in Real Madrid’s triumphant 2023/24 season, proving himself to be a reliable option in goal when Thibaut Courtois was out sidelined with an ACL injury.
However, the moment the Belgian international returned from his injury, the Ukrainian stopper went back to playing second-fiddle.
Despite the situation, Lunin signed a new contract with Los Blancos until 2030, although things have not improved for him this season, with minutes not forthcoming under Carlo Ancelotti.
Amidst all this, Fichajes reports that Manchester United have set their sights on Andriy Lunin as a potential reinforcement for their goalkeeping department.

The Red Devils are prepared to submit a €40 million offer for the Real Madrid shot-stopper in the upcoming summer transfer window as they see him as a valuable addition amid concerns over Andre Onana’s inconsistent performances.
Lunin has played nine times this season, with four of those appearances coming in the Copa del Rey. The situation might not align with his sporting ambitions and as such a lucrative offer from Manchester United could prove to be tempting.
Real Madrid, for their part, are unlikely to stand in the player’s way if he seeks a departure even though they trust him. An offer of €40 million, much greater than his current market value, could be convincing enough for Los Blancos.
What now remains to be seen is whether Manchester United do decide to follow through on their reported interest in Lunin by making a bid for the 26-year-old Ukrainian goalie.
