Manchester United have made contact with the representatives of Victor Osimhen (h/t Foot Mercato).
Osimhen is currently on loan from Napoli to the Turkish club Galatasaray. He has bagged 33 goals and eight assists in all competitions this season.
Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in the Nigerian forward, who is one of the hottest properties in the transfer market.
Man United’s main priority is Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyökeres. The Swedish striker is top of the club’s wish list.
However, bringing him to Old Trafford will not be easy if the club fails to qualify for the Champions League.
Top clubs across Europe are also keen on the forward. This means United will face stiff competition for his signature.
If a move for Gyokeres fails, Osimhen is the most realistic alternative. Talks are ongoing as the club prepares for different outcomes. Osimhen is demanding wages of €12 million annually.
English striker Liam Delap is another option, but Osimhen is the most advanced option under discussion.
The Nigerian international will cost Manchester United over €75 million. That figure could rise depending on Napoli’s final stance.
Man United are aiming to reshape their attack this summer. Ruben Amorim wants a proven striker who can make an instant impact.
The club’s approach for the Napoli striker signals that they are exploring top-level options.
