After working on this operation for the last few months, FC Barcelona are now finally close to landing a new left winger from the market. Several recent reports have suggested that the Catalans are close to signing the Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford on loan, and will also have the option to buy him permanently after the end of this loan period.

The Englishman would be a good addition to the Blaugrana team, as he will provide a very good depth option for a forward line that already boasts the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, and Ferran Torres.

Thus, Barcelona fans would be excited about this signing. Meanwhile, a Manchester United legend expressed his belief that the winger would do very well at the Blaugrana club.

As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the former Red Devils defender Rio Ferdinand talked about Rashford’s move to Barcelona as he appeared in a recent interview.

Talking about the English star, Ferdinand advised him about what he needed to do to succeed:

“Marcus Rashford has to come in and do things differently from the forwards and attacking players they already have. Run off the ball behind defenses. Be a threat in behind. Make teams drop back when Marcus Rashford is on the pitch. Shoot, because he has a lethal right-footed shot. Run, shoot. Not be one of those players who dribbles too much and complicates things.”

Keeping the game simple

The former England defender had some further advice for the winger:

“Keep the game simple: one-two, pass to Lewandowski, run down the channel, etc. He has that intelligence. We’ve seen it—if he simplifies his game in those three areas and adds work ethic off the ball. If Rashford manages to do all that, this deal will be a bargain. An absolute bargain!”

Hopefully, Marcus Rashford will take this advice and turn out to be another great forward for Barcelona for the next season, and maybe, for some succeeding seasons as well.
