The pressure is already on Erik ten Hag after defeats to Brighton and Liverpool before the international break, and it is crucial that a busy upcoming fixture list brings positive results and performances.

The likes of Leny Yoro, Rasmus Hojlund and Luke Shaw have not featured at all this season, while Tyrell Malacia has not featured since the end of the 2022/23 campaign.

Mason Mount, meanwhile, has suffered more frustration in a United shirt, after picking up an injury in that defeat to Brighton last month.

Here is your latest Man Utd injury news and return dates...

Leny Yoro

It has been a slow start to life at Old Trafford for Yoro, after he suffered a foot injury against Arsenal in pre-season that has kept him on the sidelines since.

Surgery was successful and it was stated at the time that Yoro would be out for three months. Recent reports suggest that the 18-year-old is now walking without crutches, in what is positive news as he steps up his recovery.

Potential return date: November 2024

Rasmus Hojlund

Hojlund was also injured in that game against Arsenal in the USA over the summer, picking up a hamstring issue.

The striker is yet to play this season, but Erik ten Hag suggested a return is not far away when asked for an update before the international break.

“After the international break but when after the break?” the United boss said. “We will see how it develops during the break to get him match fit. It will take a while before he is up. He has to build some fitness.”

Potential return date: September 21, vs Crystal Palace

Tyrell Malacia

Malacia has been out for more than a year, since he underwent knee surgery last summer.

The left-back missed the entirety of the subsequent season and played no part in pre-season this time, but has been named in United’s squad for the Europa League in a sign that he could be close to putting his injury nightmare behind him.

Speaking last month, Ten Hag said: “He is not that far, but he is now in a progress situation.

“At a relatively short notice, he can again return into team training and then into team performance in games. I think it would be possible in two months.”

Potential return date: October/November 2024

Luke Shaw

A calf injury has kept Shaw on the sidelines in recent weeks, as he waits to make his first appearance of the season.

The left-back missed the final few months of last season for United, before returning in time to feature for England at Euro 2024. It then emerged Shaw had picked up a fresh problem just days before the new campaign.

Assuming there has not been a setback in his recovery, Shaw could come into contention to face his former side Southampton after the international break.

Mason Mount

Having started the Community Shield and United’s first two Premier League games, Mount picked up a “minor muscle injury” in the defeat to Brighton.

The midfielder posted on social media: “It looks like I'll be out for a few games. Leading up to and during pre-season, I worked hard to get my fitness back to where it needs to be and I felt re-energised, sharp and ready.  “I wanted you to hear it directly from me how frustrated I am, as I expect you are too.”

It has been reported that Mount is likely to be out for up to five weeks, meaning he is set to miss the start of the Europa League campaign later this month.

Potential return date: October 2024

Victor Lindelof

Lindelof has not featured since a pre-season clash with Liverpool in the summer.

While it was initially believed to be a minor toe problem, the defender was pictured on crutches after the first game of the season.

Lindelof did not make the squad for the defeat to Liverpool before the international break, but could make a return to action later this month.

Potential return date: September 2024
