Having spent upwards of £200million bolstering the forward line on Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha, United need to clear offload the deadwood.

The most valuable asset available to sell is Alejandro Garnacho, who Chelsea have long been expected to buy.

Standard Sport understands that the Blues remain interested in a deal but are currently prioritising selling their own unwanted players.

The Times report that there have been suggestions that Chelsea want to do a deal for around £35million, but United are sticking to their £50 valuation.

The report claims that United officials are pointing towards the £52m fee Chelsea recouped for Noni Madueke as a yardstick for Garnacho’s valuation.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea are willing to reach that figure.

Academy graduate Kobbie Mainoo is also available before Monday’s transfer deadline.

The Telegraph report that the 20-year-old has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim amid concerns over his mobility on the ball.

Contract talks have stalled and, ahead of next summer’s World Cup, the player could push for an exit in search of regular first-team minutes.

The Athletic add that Bayern Munich have shown interest in Mainoo but stopped short of an official bid, while Chelsea have long been an admirer. An asking price of £45m has been mooted, and could even drop.

Meanwhile, Rasmus Hojlund is expected to join Napoli on loan. The Serie A champions will pay a loan fee of around £4m and the move will automatically turn into a permanent transfer for around £35million should Napoli qualify for next season's Champions League.

Antony is in talks to return to Real Betis in a permanent deal after a successful loan spell. The winger scored nine goals and assisted five more after joining the club in January.

Jadon Sancho has had opportunities to leave but as yet nothing has come to fruition, while Tyrell Malacia is available on loan.
