According to David Ornstein, Manchester United have cooled their interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Manuel Ugarté (23). The Premier League outfit are unwilling to match the €60m asking price set by the Ligue 1 champions for the Uruguyan midfielder.
United would be willing to reignite their interest in Ugarté but only if PSG’s asking price was reduced to a fee which they believed to be more suitable for the 23-year-old. Les Parisiens have set their asking price at €60m as they look to recoup the transfer fee they paid just 12 months ago to sign the defensive midfielder from Sporting CP.
David Ornstein understands that Manchester United will now consider alternative targets in midfield to Ugarté. Sport Zone reports that former loanee Sofyan Amrabat was being considered for a return to Old Trafford if they were unsuccessful in their pursuit of the PSG midfielder. Amrabat is also attracting interest from Fenerbahçe.
