Manchester City vs Arsenal: Latest City injury news and predicted City starting eleven

Image de l'article :Manchester City vs Arsenal: Latest City injury news and predicted City starting eleven

Manchester City take on Arsenal today in a crucial Premier League fixture for both teams at the Emirates Stadium. Pep Guardiola’s side will be desperate to pick up three points after results went their way yesterday in the race for the top four. Mikel Arteta’s side will be desperate to stay in touch with Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table. The scene is set for what could be an enthralling encounter between two teams who, while they respect each other, it is obvious to see they don’t like each other all that much.

Latest Manchester City injury news.

Manchester City will enter today’s match without four players who are unavailable due to injury. Nathan Ake, Ruben Dias, Jeremy Doku and Rodri are all out of today’s match. It remains to be seen when Dias, Ake and Doku will return. Rodri is aiming to return later in the season but his return from the ACL injury he suffered against Arsenal in September is still some way off. Pep Guardiola did urge caution with Rodri’s return from injury when he spoke during his pre-game press conference on Friday.

Predicted Manchester City starting eleven.

Ederson: City’s number-one keeper has returned to his best form in recent games. There doesn’t appear to be any reason that he won’t start today’s match.

Matheus Nunes: It appears to be between Matheus Nunes and Rico Lewis for the right-back spot today. I think Nunes will start as his pace could be helpful up against Arsenal’s attack.

Manuel Akanji: An automatic selection for today’s match if you work off the assumption that Khusanov and Reis aren’t ready to start a game of this magnitude.

John Stones: The England international was superb against Club Brugge. The hope is that he can carry that form into today’s crucial match.

Josko Gvardiol: Gvardiol has been in superb form recently. He’s an automatic selection at left-back.

Mateo Kovacic: Im expecting Kovacic to start in midfield. He’ll have a huge role to play if that proves to be the case.

Bernardo Silva: It would be a surprise if Bernardo didn’t start in midfield today. I’m expecting Pep Guardiola to want his team to control the game and Bernardo will have a big role play in that.

Ilkay Gundogan: I’d expected Gundogan to start in midfield for the same reason as I expect Bernardo Silva to.

Phil Foden: Foden has returned to his best in 2025. He could have a pivotal role to play today if he’s at his best.

Omar Marmoush: The Egyptian international showed plenty in his Manchester City debut against Chelsea last weekend. I’m expecting him to start against Arsenal given the threat he’ll provide Mikel Arteta’s side’s defence.

Erling Haaland: Haaland will likely be the villain of today’s match for the Arsenal fans. But that could bring out the best in City’s number 9 and if he brings that today he could well decide today’s match.
