A brand new fan event and experience will be trialled for Manchester City supporters attending this weekend’s contest against Brentford at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola and his players will be returning to competitive action after the first international break of the new season, taking on Thomas Frank’s side in a meeting that will mark the start of an intense schedule for the club.

Across the course of the next seven games, Manchester City will welcome the return of the UEFA Champions League and Carabao Cup competitions to accompany their hectic Premier League commitments.

Amongst those fixtures features a meeting with Premier League title rivals Arsenal, a home clash against 2023 final opponents Inter, and a League Cup clash against Watford separated by just one day from the clash with Mikel Arteta’s players.

Away from the pitch, things will be slightly less hectic as Manchester City look to bring in a new relaxed environment for their supporters to enjoy the home matchday experience, opening the doors to a new arena to fans.

City announced this week that the club will be trialling a ‘new pre-match experience’ at Co-op Live for supporters of Pep Guardiola’s side attending the upcoming match against Brentford on Saturday 14 September.

It is detailed that all ticket holders for the match are welcomed to ‘The Street’ within Co-op Live, with a range of food and drink options available, as well as pre-match entertainment and matchday build-up.

A live DJ will also be in attendance to entertain supporters, whilst Manchester City also state that guest speakers will be present for pre-match discussions, as well as a range of exclusive competitions open to those in attendance.

Full details regarding the brand new fan experience for Manchester City supporters on the Etihad Campus can be found on the club’s official website.

The opening of doors to supporters are Co-Op Live coincides with ongoing construction work ongoing at the Etihad Stadium, as Manchester City look to further expand the capacity of the arena to around 60,000 mid-way through the 2025/26 season.

Alongside the capacity increase, City have previously confirmed that an on-site hotel will be built into the stadium, as well as a new club museum, restaurants and club shops, as well as a central concourse for pre-match events and post-match entertainment.
