Manchester City open talks to sign Lyon’s Rayan Cherki | OneFootball

Manchester City have begun talks to sign Olympique Lyonnais attacking midfielder Rayan Cherki (21), according to a report from Fabrizio Romano.

Cherki, who has just received his first call-up to the France national team, publicly stated that he would leave his formative club, Lyon, during the summer. After a scintillating campaign for his club, during which he scored 12 goals and registered an impressive 20 assists (including eight in the UEFA Europa League), he has attracted significant interest from across Europe, but from the Premier League in particular.

Manchester United, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with a move for the Frenchman. However, it seems that the most advanced interest comes from Manchester City, who, according to Romano, have now made contact to begin initial talks. The Italian journalist understands that Cherki features at the top of the Cityzens’ list as they look to recruit a new No.10 this summer. The Frenchman is already aware of the Premier League side’s interest.
