Lijnders worked at the Reds' academy and then found his way to working as an assistant to Jurgen Klopp. Now he has taken up that role at City, and it'll be Guardiola benefitting from Lijnders' work,
Lijnders was not the only former Red to join City. Kolo Toure has also joined the club as a coach, and while he also played at Manchester City, he did have a few special seasons at Liverpool as well.
He's regarded as a cult figure at Anfield but again, he'll be at Manchester City for the considerable future.
Now there's an exciting midfielder who is also expected to join the club's rivals.
Over the last few years, it's mostly been Liverpool who have poached promising players from their rivals.
They took Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea and Trey Nyoni from Leicester City. These are probably the most notable transfers for Liverpool in terms of recruiting young players.
Now though they are set to face the other side of this. Fabrizio Romano reported that Manchester City are closing in on the transfer of Liverpool's young midfielder Kaylum Moss.
He's regarded as one of the best young prospects at the club's academy. Moss is a sensationally talented young midfielder.
But now he'll be linking up with the club's rivals. Because there's been another update when it comes to his move to Manchester City.
