Celtic racked up a 3-0 home victory over Livingston this afternoon to claim another three points as the Hoops’ defence of the title continues.

The visitors proved tricky to break down at points throughout the first 45 minutes, but a blistering start to the second half from the champions opened up the Livingston defence and gave Brendan Rodgers’ men a strong foothold in the game.

The Celtic manager had made a number of changes to his starting line-up for today’s match and, speaking to Celtic TV after the match, he praised his side for their positive performance throughout the game.

“I was very pleased.” Brendan said. “I thought the performance was really good. We started well and with the tempo that we wanted.

“There were a lot of changes but the fluidity in the team was very good and we got in to some good areas in the first half.

“In the second half, we had a good flow in the game and scored three very good goals.

‘I really value the players that are here, they’re working so well.’

“Defensively we’re strong, we’ve conceded only one goal in four domestic games.

“And today, against a team that are very compact and tight, we showed some really good moments of football.”

After a 0-0 draw against FC Kairat at Celtic Park on Wednesday night, the Celts will now travel to Kazakhstan for the return leg on Tuesday evening.

A victory at the Central Stadium in Almaty would secure a place in the league phase of the Champions League for Brendan Rodgers’ side, and the Celts’ boss says that full focus is now on winning against Kairat.

Brendan added: “We’ll go and make sure that our preparation is right over the next 48 hours.

“We’ll travel first thing in the morning and we’re going out there to win the game. The objective is to qualify.

“We’re still well in the game and we’re still well capable of going out there and winning, so that’s the plan.”
