Manchester United are interested in signing Barcelona winger Raphinha in a potential swap deal for Jadon Sancho in January, according to Sport (page 13).

Sancho is currently indefinitely suspended by the Red Devils following his public outburst towards manager Erik ten Hag following the defeat at Arsenal.

He has refused to show any remorse for his statement and United are prepared to offload him when the transfer window reopens at the start of the New Year.

Sport now claim that the idea of a swap involving Sancho and Raphinha was previously discussed and the coming weeks could determine whether a deal materialises.

The Blaugrana are also open to the prospect of offloading their winger to Saudi Arabia. Knowing there is money to be made, they have set a price of €92 million.

The former Leeds United star has a clear desire to continue at Barcelona, but he may have to contemplate an exit as he is no longer an indispensable figure in the squad.

Man Utd could explore straight swap deal for Raphinha

Sancho currently has no future at United after his fall-out with the manager and he is likely to pursue a new European club during the January transfer window.

A move to Barcelona would be an enticing prospect for the 23-year-old to restart his career and they could be willing to pay close to his current weekly wages.

United could also welcome the prospect of landing Raphinha, who had a successful spell with Leeds United. He made 29 goal contributions in two seasons.

Provided there is a straight-swap agreement, United may have no concern in finalising a deal.

If Barcelona are looking for extra funds as part of the exchange, the Red Devils could have reservations over a move due to their tight Financial Fair Play situation.

A spending spree this winter is dependent on player sales. Casemiro and Anthony Martial could be sold to Saudi clubs next month.
