Manchester United dropped to 15th in the Premier League table following a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on the road last weekend.

The Red Devils have struggled defensively and offensively under manager Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese could be backed with funds to reinforce the squad this summer.

The club may explore a quality competitor for Lisandro Martinez in the left centre-back role, considering the Argentine has been inconsistent and injury prone in his Red Devils career.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite has been linked with the club for some time, but the Red Devils may not revive their pursuit. The Toffees were eyeing £70 million for him last summer.

With Branthwaite’s more influential performances this campaign, the Merseyside outfit could hold out for a higher price as they are on course to avoid relegation from the top flight.

United must explore an alternative in the transfer market. Bournemouth’s Dean Huijsen could be an ideal choice as he has a £50 million release clause in his contract, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 19-year-old signed for the Cherries from Juventus last summer. The Spain youth international started the campaign as a regular unused substitute under manager Andoni Iraola.

However, Huijsen eventually got the nod to establish himself amid injuries. The teenager is now an undisputed starter for the South Coast outfit with his stand-out performances.

He has won 58 percent of his duels with an average of 1.2 tackles, 3.6 recoveries and 4.5 clearances. Huijsen has chipped in with two goals from set-pieces, including one against United.

The Amsterdam-born star has all the traits to become a superstar in the long run. He would perfectly fit into United’s transfer policy, and it appears a no-brainer decision to recruit him.
