Luke Shaw, Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire all trained with their Manchester United team-mates on Friday.

The trio have been absent of late through injury but were seen in United’s training session broadcast live on the club’s website.

Shaw has managed just two Premier League appearances this season following another nightmare campaign with injuries.

He has not played for the Red Devils since December because of a muscle problem but boss Ruben Amorim revealed he is nearing a return to action after his long spell on the sidelines.

Yoro, meanwhile, has endured something of a stop-start debut season in Manchester because of injury problems and has been absent of late with a foot injury.

And Maguire has also missed out lately because of a calf problem but could return to action when United face Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

Goalkeepers Altay Bayindir and Tom Heaton also took part in the session following their recent injury problems, returning to provide some welcome competition for number one Andre Onana.

But duo Kobbie Mainoo and Ayden Heaven were both not involved in training, however.

Heaven was forced off in the win over Leicester City before the international break with a nasty foot injury and has been seen wearing a protective boot of late.

Mainoo, meanwhile, has been missing with a muscle problem and is not fit enough to return.

Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo also continue to miss out with longer-term injuries.

Martinez will be out for the season after injuring his ACL while it remains to be seen whether Amad will be able to return before the end of the campaign because of an ankle issue.

Manuel Ugarte, Victor Lindelof and Noussair Mazraoui have been given more time to recover having played for their national teams on Tuesday.

Jonny Evans also missed out again with his back injury.
