Man Utd in talks with Serie A powerhouse over Rasmus Hojlund transfer | OneFootball

Juventus are described as having started "preliminary talks" over a potential summer deal for Manchester United striker Rasmus Hojlund.

Hojlund has endured enormous criticism this season, some of which has bordered on unfair, over a lack of goals. From getting 16 across all competitions in his debut campaign, the young Dane has managed only eight in his second – with less than two months left to play.

Immense pressure on his young shoulders – Hojlund only turned 22 in February – a lack of quality service, and rock-bottom confidence, as well as any shortcomings of his own, have all played a part.

Reports linking Hojlund with a summer exit are nothing new, especially with United believed to be in the market for another striker – Viktor Gyokeres, Hugo Ekitike, Liam Delap and Victor Osimhen are the most frequents names that have come up.

But while Napoli interest has been more readily established, Juventus is a fresher avenue.

Journalist Matteo Moretto has explained via YouTube that Juventus are targeting two strikers this summer. Talks over Hojlund are claimed to be in the early stages, rather than anything concrete.

Dusan Vlahovic is tipped to leave Juventus this summer, rather than sign a new contract. He has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United. Randal Kolo Muani made the loan switch to Turin in January and has scored five times in nine Serie A games. It’s feasible he could be one of the two wanted, but a deal would have to be agreed with Paris Saint-Germain.

It’s not actually the first time that Juventus have shown interest in Hojlund. But the previous occasion pre-dates his arrival at Manchester United in 2023, when the former Copenhagen talent was impressing in Serie A with Atalanta and in his earliest appearances for Denmark.

This time, Napoli's interest, according to Moretto, is not a priority for the club. Hojlund is said to be one of many options on a long list, rather than a serious target at this stage.
