Man Utd Open Juventus Talks as Sancho Sale Becomes Priority

At some point, every project has to be stripped back before it can be rebuilt. In Manchester United’s case, the summer of 2025 has become a cleansing exercise — a sharp, necessary detox of past indulgences and legacy mistakes. Jadon Sancho sits firmly in that category. Once heralded as the beacon of a new attacking era, now merely a line item on a balance sheet in need of trimming.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Juventus have entered direct talks with United and are holding a video call to explore the “feasibility of the operation.” There is a quiet irony in the fact that, for all the fanfare that greeted Sancho’s arrival, his potential exit might be settled over Zoom.

Amorim Draws Clear Line in Squad Restructure

Ruben Amorim has wasted little time drawing up his vision for a leaner, more focused Manchester United. Sancho has been excluded from the club’s pre-season tour of the United States, alongside Marcus Rashford, Antony and Alejandro Garnacho. Publicly, it’s described as a reset. Internally, it feels like the end of a chapter.

Amorim’s stance is definitive. Sancho is not part of his plans. The Portuguese coach is not a manager inclined towards sentiment. He wants control, and that begins with clarity.

Juventus and Fenerbahce Lead Race

Juventus’ interest is born from their own squad recalibration. Di Marzio notes that with Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula reportedly Premier League-bound, the Bianconeri see Sancho as a direct upgrade. They are expected to “push” for the deal.

Fenerbahce, now under Jose Mourinho, are also active, albeit cautious. They are in talks with Sancho’s representatives, hoping to reduce his wage demands, currently reported to be around £10 million per year.

That wage bracket has already scared off Chelsea, who paid £5 million to cancel an obligation to buy after Sancho’s loan spell. Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Saudi Pro League clubs have also expressed interest, but none have moved beyond initial contact.

Price Tag and Wages Remain Barriers

United want £30 million for Sancho. Fenerbahce are hoping to negotiate a fee between £20 and £25 million. Juventus, meanwhile, are assessing structure and salary feasibility. No club has yet offered terms that satisfy both United and Sancho.

This is a case where the destination feels inevitable — Sancho will leave — but the route remains complex. The question now is which club blinks first.

Our View – EPL Index Analysis

There’s no denying this has dragged on. From the moment Sancho was frozen out under Ten Hag to his failed revival on loan at Chelsea, it always seemed his time at Old Trafford was running out. Ruben Amorim confirming that Sancho won’t be part of the squad only underlines what most fans already knew — this relationship is beyond repair.

But while some will focus on the fee or the wage demands, the bigger issue for fans is just seeing decisive action. United have been stuck in a cycle of indecision for years, hanging on to players in hope rather than belief. Amorim’s approach feels like the start of a different culture.

Sancho is clearly talented, but United need players who are fully invested, and right now, his head and heart seem elsewhere. Whether it’s Juventus or Fenerbahce or someone else, United fans just want closure — and to use those funds to back Amorim’s rebuild.
