Manchester United are accelerating the move to sign Mali international striker El Bilal Toure before Monday’s transfer deadline, according to a report from Foot Mercato.
The Red Devils could offload Marcus Rashford before the deadline, but Ruben Amorim has almost ruled out a move for Alejandro Garnacho.
Likewise, Josua Zirkzee is going nowhere despite reports linking him with a move back to Italy this month. However, United are planning for the future ahead, and have set their sight on Bilal Toure.
Man Utd have been heavily linked with players like Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Mathys Tel, but they have found it difficult to secure deals for them in the winter market.
Toure currently plays for Stuttgart on loan from Atalanta. He is currently out injured with metatarsal problems and the German club are not impressed with him either.
However, they have come up with a “crazy” solution. Stuttgart are looking to buy the striker permanently for a fee of around €18 million.
They are planning to sell him to United for a fee of €25m, excluding bonuses. United will then send him back on loan to Stuttgart for the rest of the season.
He will move to Old Trafford next summer.
The Red Devils are giving him the opportunity to stay at the German club for the rest of the season and regain confidence by playing well in the Bundesliga.
Toure started his career with Reims where he scored nine goals in 68 games before moving to Almeria. He played just one season in La Liga, and then moved to Atalanta who paid around €30m for his signature.
The deal makes sense very little sense considering United need to add quality players now who can make an instant impact.
