Manchester United star, Marcus Rashford, has spoken out once more on the abuse he feels he has suffered in this current campaign.

The England international was in amazing form last season, as he scored 30 goals for the Red Devils and was instrumental in a third place finish and a Carabao Cup victory, where he scored in the final.

However, this season has been a nightmare for the striker on and off the pitch.

Due to the quality and talent of the player, there have been moments of inspiration such as a wonder strike versus Manchester City last month, but these moments have been few and far between.

Off the field problems such as his drinking bender in Belfast and poor form on it have resulted in a barrage of criticism from pundits and former players, with many suggesting he would be better off leaving for pastures new to reignite his career.

Rashford’s latest criticism came from his performance versus Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-final, where numerous Sky Blues players were said to be taken aback about how poor and nonchalant his play was on such a huge occasion.

The 26 year old has already spoken out on the amount of criticism he has received and wrote on The Player’s Tribune about his love for the club and how nobody could or should question that.

He remarked, “so 99% of the time, I can ignore the noise. But sometimes, certain lines get crossed, and I can’t help but want people to just understand who I am as a person”.

Yesterday, the United man once again took to social media to voice his displeasure with how he feels he has been treated as of late.

Writing on X (formerly twitter), he responded to a comment claiming the criticism he has faced is “disgusting” and “cruel” by stating, “I appreciate your support! It is abuse and has been for months. Enough is enough”.

The mental health of the player and the unreal drop off in form is a massive concern for everyone connected to the club.

His seeming lack of effort on the pitch or refusal to change his playing style despite running into blind alleys time and time again is a source of frustration for many United fans.

However, in a week where the club has celebrated its 250th academy graduate to make a debut, the mental health of a player who has been with the team since childhood should certainly be of the utmost concern for the club and the supporters.
