Manchester United will face Arsenal in the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup.

The Red Devils sealed their place in the last eight with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Chelsea last week.

United’s latest academy graduate to make his debut in the first team, Chido Obi, scored a hat-trick in the last round.

Gibraltar international James Scanlon was also a major contributor to the victory as he scored a brace in the comfortable win.

The Manchester Evening News report that the quarter final tie against the Gunners will take place in 10 days on the 28th February.

Arsenal have confirmed that the “highly-anticipated” clash will kick off at 7pm UK time and take place at the Emirates Stadium.

The event has been classified as a minor event by Arsenal, meaning that the attendance will not be allowed to exceed 9,999 spectators.

The Under-18s coach, Adam Lawrence, claimed after the match that his side was “looking forward” to challenging themselves against Arsenal and that they were the “carrot” for his players.

One of the most tantalising stories of the fixture is that it will pit Obi against his former team.

The Dane has already scored seven goals in three games this season in the Youth Cup and this means he has already found the net the same number of times as Alejandro Garnacho did in the 2022 triumph.

United are currently second in the North division of the Under-18s Premier League, five points behind Manchester City but with a game in hand.

Arsenal, conversely, find themselves 7th in the South division but only six points off the top of the table.

United have won the Youth Cup a record 11 times and will back themselves to build on this fine achievement due to the abundance of talent they have at this level this season. Featured image Matt McNulty via Getty Images
