Manchester United’s attack could look very different come the summer with two high-profile exits on the cards as INEOS look to raise money to steer clear of PSR worries.
Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho are both on the market with their status as academy graduates meaning their sales will count as pure profit.
The Mancunian has already declared his intention to leave his boyhood club with Barcelona and AC Milan considered frontrunners for his signature while Borussia Dortmund are lurking in the background.
As for the young Argentine, Napoli, who have recently lost Kvicha Kvaratshkhelia to Paris Saint-Germain, are looking at the 20-year-old as his potential successor while Tottenham Hotspur are also keeping an eye on proceedings.
So far, no offer has been to United’s liking but a vacancy could develop on the left should either of the two depart and United have their eyes on a Bundesliga starlet as replacement.
Jamie Gittens has been on fire for Dortmund, with 11 goals and five assists from 25 games this season, and despite being only 20, is already the club’s second top-scorer.
He primarily plays on the left wing but can also play on the right and even up front and this versatility is a huge asset for any club.
The England U21 international’s exploits have caught the attention of multiple top clubs including United as well as Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich.
Both could pounce for the former Manchester City academy starlet should Dortmund fail to qualify for the Champions League next season. Nuri Sahin’s team are languishing in 10th position currently.
“Jamie Gittens remains a top transfer target for FC Bayern in the upcoming summer. Bayern have already held talks with his management, as they aim to sign at least one top winger. All exclusively revealed in December.
“Should Borussia Dortmund fail to qualify for the Champions League, a departure of Gittens in the summer becomes very likely. FC Bayern are aware of this! Also seriously interested: Manchester United,” wrote Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg on X (formerly Twitter).
Gittens was also a part of Chelsea’s academy and he left City for Germany back in 2020. He is the latest Englishman after Jude Bellingham and Jadon Sancho to make his mark in the Bundesliga for Dortmund.
And just like the illustrious duo before him, he could also be on the move to more lucrative pastures should he keep up his red-hot form.
He has a current market value of €50 million but could fetch a lot more given the fact that he has a contract with the Signal Iduna Park outfit until 2028.
