Man United to benefit from Real Madrid transfer deal | OneFootball

An incoming transfer arrival at La Liga giants Real Madrid is set to financially benefit one of English football’s leading clubs, in Manchester United.

That’s according to Marca, who highlight as much as coming owing to the imminent arrival of Álvaro Carreras in Spain’s capital.

The name of defender Carreras has of course returned to the forefront of the headlines at Real Madrid over the last 24 hours.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that Los Blancos’ long-running talks with Benfica over a deal for the 22-year-old had finally moved forward.

Carreras is now expected to be announced as the latest addition to Xabi Alonso’s squad any day now, with Real youngster Rafael Obrador heading in the opposite direction.

And as alluded to above, Benfica will not be the only ones to benefit financially from the deal for Carreras at last coming to fruition.

As revealed by Marca, after the left-back spent time developing on the books at Old Trafford:

‘Manchester United will also receive compensation,’ the extent of which is yet to be confirmed.
