Repeat of 2023 final as City look to reclaim crown
Manchester City begin their quest to recapture the Champions League against familiar opponents.
City host Inter Milan, the team they beat in Istanbul last year to claim Europe’s elite club trophy for the very first time.
Pep Guardiola’s side have been pitted against some European heavyweights as part of the revamped new format. After hosting the Italian champions, they have a favourable run of games against Slovan Bratislav, Sparta Praha, Sporting CP and Feyenoord.
Still, games against Juventus and Paris Saint-German offer real tests, albeit they will be confident in their final outing in the initial phase at home to Club Brugge.
It all begins with Inter, however, and here’s everything you need to know.
Man City vs Inter Milan is scheduled for an 8pm BST kick-off time on Wednesday 18 September, 2024.
The Etihad Stadium in Manchester will host.
TV channel: The game will be broadcast on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate.
Live stream: Subscribers will be able to watch on a live stream via the Discovery+ app.

City are not thought to be carrying any fresh injuries, with Erling Haaland having played against Brentford despite being afforded compassionate leave following the death of a family friend.

Davide Frattesi and Stefan de Vrij both returned from injury against Monza on Sunday so are back in contention for Inter. Nicolo Barella was back on the bench so could get the nod to face City, but Tajon Buchanan remains out.
It’s a difficult stat for City but, at home, they have to be favourites.
