Part of AC Milan’s agreement for the Futuro side to play their games at the Stadio Felice Chinetti was for some renovations to be paid for, and they are completed.
It was reported even before the spot in Serie C was secured for the Futuro that Milan had reached an agreement with Solbiatese regarding a deal to play their home games there. A €700k investment was promised for the ‘restyling’ of the stadium, essential to bring it up to standard for the third tier.
As Malpensa24 (via MilanPress) report, the Felice Chinetti is ‘experiencing a second youth’ thanks to the arrival of Milan Futuro. The former Inter Femminile facility has been completely renovated and now the works are about to be wrapped up.
The city’s Sports Councilor Alberto Riganti commented: “Having an international club like Milan in Solbiate is certainly an added value. We are proud to have been chosen. This also puts Chinetti on the map of Italian professional stadiums and shows how the enhancement of the facility was the right choice.”
The renovation works began a year ago now, for a joint outlay between Milan and Solbiatese worth €1.6m. There are those who have raised issue over the management of city traffic during the home games for the Rossoneri, but the police and the commitment of all the people involved lead to an increasingly welcome experience.
