Malo Gusto got a nice surprise this international break after being called up to the French national team for the first time.

He was drafted in to replace an injury, but he will be very excited to get his first experience now in the senior squad.

Gusto has been a great addition to Chelsea’s squad this summer, coming in to provide serios competition to Reece James. He has already played the majority of Chelsea’s games this season with James once again being injured, and he will know that he will have plenty more chances to shine in the coming weeks, months, and years.

He’s been playing in Chelsea’s back four alongside legend of the game Thiago Silva, and Gusto has named him as one of the greatest defenders in the world in his latest words whilst out on international duty with France.

Gusto says that Silva inspires him a lot.

On Silva, Gusto tells RMC Sport: “He’s one of the greatest defenders in the world. He’s always on top, focused on what he’s doing. To see that he’s still at his best, it’s something that’s beautiful and inspires me a lot.”
