Manchester United have a significant advantage in the race for Victor Osimhen who is reportedly hellbent on realising his Premier League dream.
The 26-year-old cemented himself as one of the most devastating bombers in the world during his time at Napoli between 2020 and 2024. While he remains on the club’s books, his poor rapport with the hierarchy, particularly club president Aurelio De Laurentiis, suggests he has already played his last game for the Partenopei.
Last summer, the Nigerian bomber was hoping to finally make his dream EPL move a reality, and was in talks to join Chelsea. However, this transfer never materialised. Instead, he ended up joining Galatasaray on a one-season loan deal just to avoid spending his campaign on the sidelines.
Osimhen continues to deliver the goods in Turkiye, and he’s currently spearheading the club’s charge towards another league title, scoring 20 goals in 23 appearances.
Therefore, the Lagos native remains on the radar of some of the biggest clubs in Europe, and he’s finally expected to leave Napoli for good in the summer. His reported €75 million release clause should facilitate his departure.
According to JuveFC, former Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli is desperate to reunite with Osimhen at Juventus.

However, the Nigeria international, who is recognised by some as the ‘best striker in the world’, politely rejected the Bianconeri’s approach, as the Premier League remains his preferred destination.
This is considered great news for Man Utd, as Osimhen could be the ideal profile to uplift their barren attacking department. After all, the Galatasaray bomber is blessed with a superb clinical touch as well as a natural ability to torment his marker, whether in a physical duel, a sprint race or even with his dribbling.
Osimhen would certainly be an upgrade on the club’s current out-and-out striker, Rasmus Hojlund, who has only scored thrice in the Premier League this season as he continues to struggle upfront.
However, the Red Devils could also face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, as well as other European giants, namely Bayern Munich and PSG.
