Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has said that the club is “motivated” to pull off a historic quadruple this season. PSG have already won the Trophée des Champions this season, whilst they remain in the running for all three other major titles on offer.
Les Parisiens could wrap up the Ligue 1 title on Wednesday. Should Luis Enrique’s side beat FC Lorient and AS Monaco fail to beat Lille OSC, PSG will be crowned champions for the third successive season. However, they aren’t stopping there. PSG are also in the final of the Coupe de France and will play Olymique Lyonnais at the end of May.
Luis Enrique has also led PSG to the sem-final of the UEFA Champions League. With two matches against Borussia Dortmund coming up, there is a chance of reaching their first final since 2020. The dream of a historic quadruple is therefore alive and well.
“Of course [we speak about the quadruple]. It’s a motivation. It is a way of making our mark on the club’s history and that of the city. It motivates us. We will have to remain focused in this end-of-season run in,” said Luis Enrique, who warned against “switching off” in the event of wrapping up the Ligue 1 title, which would represent PSG’s second title of the campaign, against Lorient.
