Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini apologized to the fans following the team’s defeat to Fiorentina with a scoreline of 5-1.
After the match, Pellegrini was interviewed by DAZN.
“I don’t know any other way out than through work,” said the skipper.
“We need to be men and tell ourselves the truth, performances like today are not acceptable and therefore it is a difficult moment from which the only way out is through work, we need to do something more.”
“I can’t find anything positive from tonight’s game, as I said before I don’t know any other way than work. We’re all here to try to do what’s best for Roma. You know how much this team means to me, days like this are twice as difficult for me.”
“After the first half we returned to the field and I took the team with me to try to make them understand that we could change the game. The second half went even worse and there is really nothing to take inspiration from, you have to look each other in the eyes and be men before players.”
“These are things that unfortunately happen and today it went like this, through work we will have to try to change things. What happened today must not happen again.”
