Having secured their place in the 2024/25 second tier campaign, the R's can now begin planning for next season, and will have one eye on the upcoming summer transfer window.

As such, according to the Scottish Sun, the Loftus Road outfit are interested in pursuing a loan deal for Celtic starlet Bosun Lawal, alongside newly promoted sides Derby County and Portsmouth.

The 20-year-old spent the 2023/24 League One campaign at Fleetwood Town, who were relegated to League Two, but Lawal showcased his ability to play as both a centre-back and a defensive midfielder.

QPR fan pundit offers verdict on interest in Lawal

Football League World's QPR fan pundit, Louis Moir said: "After seeing that we were linked with Bosun Lawal from Celtic, I had a quick look at him.

"I'd never heard of him before, but from looking up what he's about, he looks an exciting player.

"I think Celtic rate him quite highly, he just spent the season on loan with Fleetwood, and he looks like that sort of defensive midfielder who has got a bit of flair to him as well.

"From what I've seen, he looks like he can drive with the ball, he's got really good technical ability.

"He's obviously still so young, he's got, probably a massive future ahead of him.

"I think when he was at Watford, Troy Deeney once compared him to the likes of Abdoulaye Docoure.

"So, obviously you've got that comparison, that sort of player, and I do think that's possibly a player we've lacked in recent years.

"Someone who can drive with the ball, in that defensive position.

"If he's got experience playing at the back as well, that would come in handy.

"If rumours are to be believed, then we're in pole position to potentially be signing him.

"Whether that's on a permanent, I doubt it, probably a loan.

"But from what I can see, he looks a really exciting talent and a player that we've been lacking, and if he looks as good as what I can see from small clips so far, then he certainly looks a proper player.

"An exciting first link to do with the summer transfer window, so I'm hoping it's true."

An exciting 2024/25 season could be in store at Loftus Road

When Marti Cifuentes arrived at the West London outfit back in October, the R's had endured six successive Championship defeats, and sat 23rd in the league.

The Spaniard is clearly a talented manager, as he has been able to guide his side from that perilous position to safety with a game to spare, which is an admirable feat.

If the R's manager is able to oversee a successful summer transfer window, then an exciting 2024/25 campaign could be lying ahead for QPR, and Lawal could be the first step towards a positive window.
