Alvaro Morata has been unable to take the AC Milan management, as well as the fanbase, by storm so far this season. Therefore, according to a report, the Rossoneri are already eyeing a striker for the summer.
Morata was signed for just €13m in the summer and considering his experience, there were relatively high (but cautious) hopes among the Milan fans. So far, he has five goals and two assists in 17 appearances, which isn’t good enough.
According to Daniele Longo of Calciomercato.com, the Spaniard has been unable to convince the management and with Tammy Abraham’s loan expiring in the summer as well, Milan are already looking at a new No.9.
Viktor Gyökeres and Benjamin Sesko, who were the main targets, are now out of reach due to their price tags. Santiago Gimenez, on the other hand, remains within reach even if Feyenoord are asking for around €50m to part ways with the Mexican international.
An extra effort would thus be needed from Milan to secure a new striker in the summer. It should be noted that Francesco Camarda, who will start against Verona tonight, is still very much in the Rossoneri’s plan. However, considering his age, they don’t want to rush him either.
