According to a report from Foot Mercato, France international defender Loïc Badé (24) is set to stay at Sevilla despite the efforts of Premier League side Aston Villa to sign the player as a replacement for the Fernabaçhe-bound Diego Carlos. The Villians, who just come off the back of a 1-0 loss to Monaco in the Champions League, saw a bid worth €25m rejected by the La Liga side three days ago – with the club reportedly holding out for a valuation of around €30m for the former Rennes defender.  Badé was reportedly tempted to join a club that has qualified for the Champions League, but his attachment to the La Liga side and his desire to qualify for Europe has currently swayed to decision in favour of staying at Sevilla by the end of the winter transfer window. The Frenchman, who featured in Thierry Henry’s France side which reached the final of the Olympic games, has made 17 appearances so far this season with Los Nervionenses.GFFN | George Boxall
