Liverpool's move for Milos Kerkez takes a big step forward. The Reds can think about wrapping this one up soon.

Liverpool are eager to complete a deal for Milos Kerkez this summer. The Reds have settled on the Hungarian as their next left-back - a position they've wanted to solve for the last year.

Anfield Watch exclusively revealed back in November that initial talks had taken place over Kerkez. Those went very positively and Liverpool have looked at signing the player ever since.

Essentially, the club want Andy Robertson's long-term replacement. It's not going to be Kostas Tsimikas, who has deputised for the Scot over the last five years.

Tsimikas may now leave, in fact, as Liverpool move for Kerkez. The latter can then work alongside Robertson for at least the next season before, hopefully, replacing him as the starting left-back.

That's the plan, anyway. And it's one that took a step forward this week.

Milos Kerkez to Liverpool

Dealing with Bournemouth hasn't been easy, with the Cherries wanting a high price for their left-back. £45m, suggested nearly everywhere, is an awful lot of money for a full-back.

Fabrizio Romano, however, claims a deal is close to being finalised. That could now happen at any moment and it's taken another step forward.

Foot Mercato claims that Bournemouth are now pushing forward on a deal for Adrien Truffert. The Stade Rennais player will replace Kerkez in their team and with the Cherries looking certain to sign him, releasing their current left-back is suddenly a lot easier to do.
