Reds sit top of the pile in Europe ahead of the visit of the champions
Liverpool will hope to welcome Trent Alexander-Arnold back for their huge Champions League showdown with Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
The defender was forced off during the win over Aston Villa before the international break and subsequently pulled out of the England squad with a hamstring injury.
Alexander-Arnold then missed the 3-2 win over Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday after Slot had claimed the right-back could return “in between” the meeting with Madrid and Sunday’s League clash with Manchester City.
Harvey Elliott returned to the bench on Sunday following a foot injury to bolster Slot’s options, though a host of first-team players remain injured.
None of Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota or Federico Chiesa are expected back for the visit of the European champions.
Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Diaz could come back into the starting lineup after starting on the bench against Saints, while Kostas Tsimikas is also a doubt after missing Sunday’s game due to a knock.
