In a recent report, BBC Sport revealed that Liverpool winger Luis Diaz is on the radar of Bayern Munich. It is understood that the German club are set to make an improved offer to land the Colombian wide player from the Merseyside club this summer.

Diaz’s Impressive Run Of Form In The Premier League

Diaz enjoyed a decent run of form at the Merseyside club recently after he produced a run of impressive performances for them on the left flank. The Colombia international scored 17 times and earned eight assists in 50 matches for Liverpool last season across various competitions.

The 28-year-old was a reliable presence in the final third as he averaged 2.66 shots per 90 minutes in the Premier League. He kept 42.3% of his attempts on target. Diaz was even accurate when distributing possession in the opponent’s half after making 84.2% of his attempted passes in the top tier of English football (stats via fbref.com).

Diaz’s current deal at Anfield will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, Arne Slot is under no immediate pressure to cash in on him this summer.

Can Liverpool Boss Arne Slot Afford To Let Diaz Go This Summer?

Diaz is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and can make a few dangerous runs with it out in the wide areas. He usually generates a lot of power with his shot attempts and can create some inviting chances for his teammates in the final third.

The Colombian sensation is primarily a left-sided wide player but can also fill in as a centre-forward if required. He has already won the Premier League with Liverpool and could welcome a change of scenery in search of a fresh adventure this summer.

Diaz remains one of the first names in Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s teamsheet. Therefore, the Reds would be wise to try everything they can to keep hold of him for the long run. Another option for Slot would be to cash in on Diaz and use the money generated from his sale to bring in a suitable replacement before the end of this transfer window.

With all things considered, the Merseyside club can afford to let Diaz leave if they receive a suitable offer for him this summer.
