Liverpool transfer agreement now INEVITABLE

There is now one transfer involving Liverpool that feels like it's inevitable.

Unfortunately, we are not talking about Alexander Isak. Although there is hope that somehow and in some way the Reds can strike an agreement with Newcastle United and get that deal over the line.

If they could, it would be an incredible summer that has already seen Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez arrive at the club. Meanwhile, they could soon be followed by Marc Guehi.

But the most interesting transfers are perhaps the ones that are going to be departures for Liverpool. Particularly because there is still so much uncertainty over the future of the bulk of Arne Slot's squad.

We don't quite know yet what Darwin Nunez's or Harvey Elliott's fate will be. Federico Chiesa is a mystery and then there is the contract situation of Ibrahima Konate.

Liverpool will desperately hope he extends with one year left on his current deal, but what if he doesn't? Could Liverpool be forced to sell him to avoid the repeat of the Trent Alexander-Arnold situation?

At the same time, Liverpool are also heading into another transfer conundrum with Luis Diaz. The Colombian has made it clear what terms he wants at the club.

These terms are clearly far apart from what Liverpool are willing to offer. With two years left on his contract and Diaz set to turn 29-years-old, a departure feels imminent.

In fact it feels inevitable after the latest reports from Florian Plettenberg.

In two unrelated posts on X, Plettenberg first revealed that Liverpool are looking at a left-winger as well as a striker. If this is true, it would be strange considering there's Diaz, Chiesa and Cody Gakpo who could play in that position.

However, if as we mentioned two of those players are on their way out, signing another left-winger makes sense.

Then Plettenberg also made a separate post about Luis Diaz and how Bayern have added him to their shortlist this summer.

And this is a transfer that absolutely feels inevitable. Diaz wants to stay in Europe. It looks like the path to Barcelona is now closed for him with the Spanish side closing in on Nico Williams.

The Athletic Bilbao winger was Bayern's first choice candidate. They are also eyeing Bradley Barcola but Paris Saint Germain do not want to sell him.

Which leaves Bayern with only one option in the market - Diaz. He's someone who is actually available and Liverpool are ready to listen to offers for.

Having missed out on Wirtz, Bayern have the funds and can afford to sign the Colombia. This is why it just makes so much sense for his agreement to be struck.
