Liverpool teenager Shaw signs first professional deal | OneFootball

Liverpool teenager Zara Shaw has signed her first professional contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds earlier today.

The 18-year-old midfielder is a product of the Liverpool academy system and is rated highly by the club.

Shaw has endured a turbulent start to her senior career. The player has already sustained two Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries in recent seasons. Shaw has been able to get some senior game time under her belt despite her injury setbacks.

The youngster is being tipped for a bright future and she will be hoping to finally have some better luck on the fitness front.

After signing on with Liverpool on a professional basis, Shaw said “It’s an amazing feeling. It’s a really proud moment for me and for my family and everyone who’s supported me on the journey so far. I’m absolutely buzzing.

“I was just a little girl when I first joined Liverpool. You always dream of stuff like this but for it to actually be happening is amazing.

“I’m working hard every day to try to get back out there as quick as I can but at the same time, I’m not rushing it – I’ll be ready when I’m ready. I’m doing well at the moment.”
