Liverpool star is ‘getting closer’ to Real Madrid | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at Premier League champions Liverpool is considered as increasingly likely to link up with Real Madrid in the near future.

That’s according to Diario AS, who point towards Ibrahima Konaté as the player in question.

Stopper Konaté has of course long seen his name emerge as a prominent one in the Spanish media headlines.

This comes amid the widespread understanding that the Frenchman has been earmarked as a leading transfer target on the part of the aforementioned Real Madrid.

Amid an ongoing search for reinforcements at the back, Konaté is considered the ideal profile by Los Blancos.

As much comes in no small part owing to the fact that the 26-year-old’s Anfield contract is due to expire next summer.

And if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media early this week is anything to go by, then Real Madrid landing their man is beginning to look increasingly likely.

As per AS, Liverpool’s signing of Giovanni Leoni, as well as their ongoing pursuit of Marc Guéhi, come with a view to replacing the outbound Konaté.

The latter is keen on taking his talents to Spain’s capital, with it not ruled out that such a move could even be forthcoming before the summer is out.
