Liverpool ended their pre-season preparations with a comfortable 3-1 win over Darmstadt.

Mohamed Salah put Jürgen Klopp’s side ahead early on with an instinctive finish after Virgil van Dijk had flicked on a Dominik Szoboszlai corner.

Poacher turned provider a short while after when the Egyptian won possession deep in Darmstadt’s half before teeing up Diogo Jota.

Mathias Honsak soon reduced the visitors’ deficit at Preston’s Deepdale, just three minutes on from Jota doubling the Reds’ advantage.

But Luis Díaz consolidated his side’s two-goal cushion shortly after the hour mark by prodding home at the near post from another Szoboszlai corner.

Next up for Liverpool is the start of their new Premier League campaign away to Chelsea on 13 August.
