The future of Hugo Ekitiké appears to be at Anfield with Liverpool closing in on the move for the Frenchman, with PSG benefiting thanks to a 20 percent sell-on clause in his contract.

Sky Sport Germany’s Florian Plettenberg previously reported that Ekitiké is one of Liverpool’s top attacking targets. However, the 23-year-old knows that a move to Anfield may depend on whether Darwin Núñez is sold.

According to a recent report from GIVE ME SPORT, Liverpool are prepared to open talks with Eintracht Frankfurt, though any potential deal could hinge on Núñez’s future. The report also notes that Liverpool are open to negotiating, which has encouraged Frankfurt as they hold firm on their £86 million valuation.

With several new signings already on the books, offloading Núñez could be key to clearing space for Ekitiké, who notched 22 goals and 12 assists in 48 appearances last season.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri reports that Liverpool are preparing to submit a second bid for Ékitiké in the coming hours. The offer is expected to be worth €80 million, plus €10 million in add-ons—an amount that could seal the deal.

Meanwhile, journalist Ben Jacobs says Liverpool are optimistic about striking an agreement with Frankfurt. The club has already reached personal terms with Ékitiké, and while Frankfurt are known for being tough negotiators, advanced talks were underway Friday and could carry on through the weekend.

RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins reported this week that Ékitiké has reached an agreement with Liverpool on a six-year contract. The striker is fully committed to the move and has turned down interest from Manchester United in the past 24 hours.

Newcastle have already pulled out of discussions. Talks are still ongoing between Liverpool and Eintracht Frankfurt as the two clubs work toward a final agreement.
